Sadness and Panic: Feeling Blurb

So I've been seeing Shani in TA hours since she's currently taking NLP. Today though was really rough, and I'm feeling really dejected right now.

Shani and I both hit our limits tonight I think. We were trying to do the most basic things (like making a copy of the sphinx4-samples file to edit. Unfortunately, that file was not able to be read by Eclipse, as it was reading the original main file from the sphinx4-samples folder and not the one I changed. This was hard because until this works I can't test anything. I was here from 6-10 trying to get this to work, and Shani was here from 7:30-9:00 trying her best as well.
I think I'm also feeling the time crunch. We have two weeks to go on this project and I regret choosing a project where I have very little help from the TAs. Although machine learning and AI is really cool and I'm learning so much, I just feel like this won't be reflected in my final output and ultimately my grade. Also, I feel like I had unrealistic expectations around all of this. I talked to Shani and Eva a bit about this, and Shani feels like I should do a side project (the arduino soundshield project) that we had discussed at an earlier TA session, so that at least I'll feel better about the output. I'm going to try to pull that off, but there's just so much going on that I don't know how good it'll be. At least there will be a tangible output though. So that makes me feel a little better.
Next Steps:
(1) Go to office hours tomorrow to start working on the side project--note: submit design document for this.
(2) Let Audrey know what's going on, ask for help on Wednesday with importing files correctly.
(3) Go to Professor Pon-Barry's office hours on Thursday (4/9).
(4) Start building the dictionary:
~Step one with this is figuring out how the probabilities work. Shani kind of explained, but didn't know how to come up with the probabilities for a topic of my choice. This is essential to moving forward.
